2009 Challenge Aspen Marathon Team - Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C.

2009 marked the seventh year of the Challenge Aspen marathon team. Over the years, runners have ranged in age from 15-72 and have included seasoned marathoners, walkers and wheelers, as well as novices to the sport of running. Team members commit to reaching a set fundraising goal to support the programs of Challenge Aspen. Over the past six years, this annual fundraising has netted more than $400,000 for programs for people with disabilities.

The Marine Corps Marathon and 10K was an especially good fit for the Challenge Aspen team members as a portion of the funds raised by the team went to the programs provided for veterans with disabilities by C.A.M.O. (Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities), the newest program division within Challenge Aspen.

The Challenge Aspen Marathon Team was supported through generous sponsorships from Independence Run & Hike, KSNO, Jimmy's Restaurant & Bar and Basalt Bike & Ski.
