Volunteers are the critical lifeblood of Challenge Aspen. More than 200 volunteers foster, support and accommodate the physical and emotional needs of our disabled guests and safely assist in the operation of the indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities made available by Challenge Aspen.
Being a volunteer with Challenge Aspen is a life-changing opportunity, and the inspiration that volunteers take away is undeniable. Volunteers have the opportunity to change lives and to be personally moved in the process, reaping the benefits of interacting with people of all abilities while also being able to take full advantage of the varied outdoor activities offered on the mountain.
Whether working with a disabled athlete in an outdoor activity or helping in the office or with planning an event, there are plenty of occasions for our volunteers to use their talents to inspire and encourage someone and to be inspired themselves.

There are a few levels of volunteers for our summer programs:
- Junior Camp Volunteers: At 13-17 years of age, these volunteers assist the staff with daily tasks while on camps and/or programs. These volunteers will not be paired up with a particular athlete or artist, but instead will be working directly with our programs coordinators, interns, or other volunteers. **Exceptions will be made for siblings, parents, or caregivers of athletes/artists participating in our programs.**
- Senior Camp Volunteers: At age 18, you are eligible to become a senior volunteer which allows you to be paired one-on-one with an athlete or artist for the duration of a camp or program.
- Miscellaneous Volunteers: These volunteers will help us with things such as providing food for our programs, fundraising, set-up and take-down of special events, assisting with administrative tasks in the office, etc.
**Anyone interested in volunteering will be required to attend 2 mandatory trainings. Those training dates are June 12th and 13th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Challenge Aspen office. More training dates may become available in July, if needed.**
